Health care reform?

For me, there can't be impactful health care reform if everyone is afraid of the world socialism.

I'm not suggesting we switch to socialism, so don't get all fired up. However, capitalism is not perfect by any means, even though it's been deemed the best way to run a society. There are flaws in capitialism and you can't see them when you look at health care.

However, there are some good aspects to socialism. There has to be. It's not 100 percent bad and evil.

Perhaps, there's a way to combine some of the benefits of socialism with the benefits of capitalism. Why does it always have to one or the other? Why are so many people afraid to that word?

There are a lot of smart people in the world who could probably devise a system where the benefits of both capitialism and socialism are being applied to our society.

However, it will never happen. Partisian politics will get in the way and too many people run from that world (socialism) like it's the plague.

So, I say there's little chance to fix the health care system. It is what it is - flawed - until we open our eyes to new ideas and not rehash and try to tweak the old ones over and over.
