80,000 people!

Wow, 80,000 people came to see Barack Obama speak in Oregon on Sunday.

Story: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2008/05/19/2008-05-19_obamas_swept_away_by_sea_of_supporters_2.html

That's insane. One thing is a stone-cold lock this November, Obama will sweep the West Coast. California, Oregon and Washington are already locks (Those states have already been called, just like Texas, racist West Virginia, Arizona, Kansas, Oklahoma and Utah are solid in the Repubs' column.

Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico are close to locks for the Dems too.

Obama will easily win in the Northeast (maybe not New Hampshire, but who cares, everything around New York).

That changes the electoral college. Ohio, racist West Virginia, Florida and even Pennsylvania are no longer must-wins for the Democrats in that scenario.

Why? Obama will likely steal a southern state or two - North Carolina, Virginia, Lousiana, Georgia, Mississippi - because of the African American vote. Look what happened in the recent election run-off election in Mississippi. A Democrat won a state senate seat in a big-time conservative district where GW Liar won 60 percent of the vote in the last two elections.

It's also the third run-off election that Dems have won in supposedly fertile conservative territory.

This Novemenber, states like Missouri, Wisconsin and Iowa will play a bigger roll in determining the White House. The tradition electoral college may look different than in recent history.

All the boring/meaningless talking points - Rev. Wright, Iran, Lappel pins and so on - seem to dominate this board and media in a never-ending back-and-fourth. However, by the fall, the voting public will be bored with all that - like I have been - and the issues will return to center stage.

And the issues are on the Dems' side - soaring gas prices, never-ending war, mortgage crisis, lies and White House deception, Bush' meager approval rating, health care, civil liberties, the environment and so on.

80,000 people at a rally in Oregon. That speaks volumes!

I just did one off the cuff with Obama losing Penn, Michigan, Ohio, Florida, Missouri, Indiana and racist West Virginia - all supposedly swing states - and still winning the White House (270-268). And if anyone this Obama is going to lose all seven of those states, you're crazy. I think Obama will win in Michigan and Penn, two traditional Dem states.

I gave Obama North Carolina, Virginia and Mississippi, along with these states:California, Conn, Colorado, Deleware, DC, Hawaii, Iowa, Maine, MD, Mass, Minnesota, Nevada, NJ, NM, Oregon, RI, Washington and Wisconsin. (All of those are easily winnable for Obama).

And watch out,Obama could easily steal a heartland state like Nebraska or Montana.
