Tap dancing was my favorite hobby as a kid. It was probably a good study in coordination, posture, etc., but I don't find a reason to breakout the tap-dance moves too often.
I wish I would have spent more time learning an instrument; that would have been more of a lifelong pursuit.
Although, my dance training did give me a huge appreciation for the arts. I am a regular at the Northrop Dance Series events, which are a HUGE bargain to see high-quality, touring dance companies. http://www1.umn.edu/umato/dance_2008/index.html
We spent a lot of time outdoors as children (my mom had a habit of unplugging the TV and telling us it was broken, then sending us outside).
During the summer, there was a lot of hide-and-seek, bike riding and shooting baskets.
Winter meant snow forts and snowmen and snowball fights and ... you get the picture.
As a child nerd, however, one of my favorite pastimes was cleaning out kitchen cupboards -- I liked to take all of the canned goods out, organize them into categories, then line them up like a grocery store shelf. My Aunt Mary loved it when I came to visit.
We did this thing where a group of about 5 of us would line our bike up in the middle of the (lightly-traveled) road and play bike dominos. That was after we would take one more step each into "the haunted house" about a mile out of town. Oh yeah, pretty cool.
At night we'd play kick the can or some other games I can't remember the name of.
We did a whole lotta hoopin' too.
Ding-dong ditch, as annoying as this little game is as an adult, it was a popular (and amusing) game as a child.
And yes, I was pretty good, as I never got caught.
