The Burnsville boys hockey team is back in the Class AA state tournament for the first time in 16 years.
Remember the glory days of the program? Between 1983 and 1991, Burnsville made seven state appearances, winning back-to-back state titles in 1985 and 1986.
This year's team has a 17-10 record, including the most losses of any team at state. However, the team has won 13 of its last 14 games and beat the No. 1-ranked team in the state (Holy Angels) in the Section 5AA title game.
Burnsville faces Blaine in the section quarterfinals on Thursday, March 8 at 8 p.m.
Any thoughts on the Blaze's chances of winning a state title? Any memories of those great Burnsville teams of the past?
