6 days and counting……
Where has the time gone? I started planning this event mid September and now I am down to the wire. So many small details I have yet to do. I am in the middle of making the favors, I have the refreshments planned, the door prizes bought, phew!! There are just not enough hours in the day. I still am working and going on cases and I also have people contacting me about ghost hunting classes. I still have to advertise the event but I got a e mail telling me that I am a business and I have no right to advertise…..etc….hang on there… a business? Not likely!
Ghost hunters do not charge for their services, we gather and record evidence for research purposes. Research? Yes. It is through research that we know what we know about the spirit world. We know the basics; a house, object, land and sometimes a person can be haunted. But through research, we now know of “Walking spirits.” We also know of the different ways spirits can show themselves, mists, solid, shadowy forms (We also now know the shadowy forms are not always spirits) and yes even orbs, no matter what some well known people say on the contrary, it’s just that it is hard to tell which is a spirit orb and which is a dust or water vapor.
Independent research is so very important to increase knowledge in this field. Minnesota’s Beyond the Veil has taken ghost hunting up one more step. After we are done gathering the evidence, we just don’t go to the clients and say “Yep you got spooks.” We can provide the clients with a choice of helping the spirits to move on, or keeping them. Surprisingly many people here in Minnesota like the idea of having a spirit in their home. They feel that it is their home too and are willing to share their domain with them as long as they don’t try to scare or harm them or the children. However we will not leave a child spirit in the house if we find one. Adults have a choice if they want to move to the light or not, children sometimes become lost or confused, and we will help them wherever we find them.
Oh dear I got side tracked, well any way, I am still going over my evps to pick out the best ones for the True Ghost Stories event. I checked the weather and it will be partly cloudy and a high of 55 and a slight chance of rain…bummer, but we live in Minnesota so it may be raining ½ mile down the road and not at The Strait house. I was hoping for a nice day so people who visit the Strait house event would be able to have a nice walk after the event. …There is a marker of George Strait’s first wife down the road. Even though I understand she is not buried there, I did manage to pick up a mist there when I visited the marker. Could it have been young Mrs. Strait checking to see who was visiting the marker?
All of us are very excited about the idea of being able to tell people of our adventures, and demonstrating our equipment to show everyone how they work. I think everyone will have a lot of fun, and they have a chance to win a door prize just for showing up. Also there is a chance to try for a raffle that we will be having, who knows, you just might be a guest ghost hunter on our next adventure.
Please don’t forget that there will be a 5-dollar parking fee, for those who do not have a season pass, that will be going to Minnesota Parks and NOT to our group.
I hope to be seeing you this Saturday……….
