Change we can believe in

Last night I spent the night with The Man.

Good conversation made the night worth while.Obama rallyObama rally

Yup, like 16,999 others, I was at the Xcel Energyc Center hollering for Obama. It was really refreshing to be among people who are ready to do what it takes to make some changes happen.

I don’t claim to know everything or have answers and I don’t consider myself a political expert. But I’m young, I’m hopeful and I know things can be much better. I also know I have some serious power. I’ve always been a believer in democracy and advocate for voting. That was reinforced last night.

I’m the oldest child and first grandchild. While my parents did some babysitting, they weren’t experts, they never raised a child on their own. I like to think I turned pretty good. They did a good job. So experience isn’t everything and to say it is, is fear speaking.

We’re fired up, we’re ready to go. Yes we can. Its change I believe in.

We packed up the kids (11 months, 5 & 14 years) and headed to the Xcel Energy Center last night. Traffic was good but as we approached the Xcel, we noticed people outside in a line, as we drove through the downtown blocks we saw more and more people lined up. Blocks and blocks of happy, excited, well organized people. I can't tell you how long the line was but it went for miles. My 14 year old daughter was amazed, my 5 year old son had lots of questions. Needless to say, we headed home and watched Obama on CNN. I was so happy to see that there were so many people who turned out in support. I have lost a lot of hope in the American people for voting in a second term to continue the Bush policies. I'm starting to get a renewed hope for the future and can only hope we can turn the corner on a more positive path. I thank Obama for that. Now it's up to all of us to make it happen in 08!

Good to hear! I saw a lot of young children there. I think it's a great idea to expose young minds to the power of politics. Kudos.
