I had to protect my dog from another dog once. Luckily, it was a little Pomeranian that ran out of its yard and was literally hanging off of my dog with its mouth full of fur as we walked down the street.
My larger dog didn't even react, so I nudged the little yippy dog off of him and we kept going.

It was funny - that little dog was quite a pirahna!

I just finished reading "The

I just finished reading "The Dogs Who Found Me" by Ken Foster and he repeatedly says (after he's done it) something like: "Never grab a (stray/fighting/hurt/sick) dog by the collar because it can turn around and bite you from that vantage point."

I have blown in my dog's face while nose to nose with her and gotten nipped on the lips for it. I cannot image biting a dog that is biting another dog, a person or even a dog toy. Even the best-trained dog might react adversely and I wouldn't want to take that chance.

This is simply insane.
A great story, albeit, it's still insane.
I love my dog and would do what I could to help him if he was being attacked, but in all honesty, I don't know that biting a dog that had its jaws locked around my dog's throat would come to mind.
It seems like it worked, but man that takes some courage.
Can you imagine putting your face into the middle of a dog fight?

True journalism story

I clearly remember early days in journlism classes discussing basics, such as "What is news." I remember defining it is something unusal, different, current and the like. Specifically, the instructor said: "Man bites dog, that's news." Well, unfortunately for me, I missed out on this stroy, but at least someone got it:

To save her Lab, Minneapolis woman bites pit bull on nose:

How about that!
