I got to know Ruth Anne

I got to know Ruth Anne while working on communications at St. John's in Savage. She was frequently in the school and church and always good about covering our events. I got to know her personally when she did an article on me and my journey with lymphoma. She came to our annual walk at Lake Nokomis and not only covered it as a reporter - but also walked with my family and I around the lake. She also was part of a ribbon cutting ceremony when our friend Pam went into remission from lung cancer. She was more than someone who reported the news in the community - she was part of the community. My sympathy and deep sorrow to the loved ones that are left behind. Know that she touched many lives and she will be greatly missed.

We at the Savage Pacer can't begin to thank you for the notes and words of kindness we've received regarding the tragic death of our dear friend and colleague, Ruth Anne Maddox. We are devastated by her loss, and your outpouring of sympathy helps us cope and makes us realize how special Ruth Anne was to her readers and friends and acquaintences.

We plan to pass these notes on to her family, particularily her 19-year-old daughter back in Ruth Anne's native Indiana. We want family members to know how much Ruth Anne meant to so many.
