This money-saving tip is one

This money-saving tip is one I've never disclosed to anyone. Prepare yourself to be shocked by my ingenious nature...
My boyfriend and I opted for gym memberships over cable TV when we moved into our place over a year ago. The price points were comparable, but the benefits were obviously greater with the gym memberships. Now, that being said, I've come up with a little trick to get the best of both worlds. (No one, including Ben, has picked up on my pattern, yet.)
There are a few shows I really enjoy on cable, I look up when they are going to be on and go to the gym at that time and while I'm doing my cardio workout, I tune into that channel on my iPod and watch it. Money saved and I still get to watch "The Real Housewives of Orange County," or maybe "The Countdown with Keith Olbermann," depending on my mood.
Shameless, I'm aware, but money saves, none-the-less.

My husband is a coupon

My husband is a coupon clipper, which saves us money. But now we've also discovered that some food items are more expensive at Cub than at SuperTarget. We are fortunate that we have a Target and Cub located close to each other, so we usually go to both and generally save some money that way. As well, we watch all the grocery store ads, which helped last week when Rainbow had gallons of milk on sale for $1.98.

Another thing done at my place to save money is rent movies from Red Box. Renting movies for one night is $1.07 with tax, and they can be returned to any Red Box, so it's pretty convienent.

As a cash-strapped recent

As a cash-strapped recent college grad, I have a few ways of my own I try to keep some money in the bank. My plan is to add some to the end of this story for a while and hope some others will contribute, too, and we can all be frugally-minded consumers.

Gifts for my friends or family, I really like to give them something I know they'll honestly like. My lastest kick has been to take a recent photo of the gift-reciever and modify it in photoshop somehow and print and frame it. It makes for a fun twist on a gift I think they really like.

Jen Hasseler of Prior Lake is a deal shopper and proud of it.

She is dressed in Gap jeans and a nice sweater but guess what? The total cost for her outfit was a whopping $8.
