The 93 percent is based on

The 93 percent is based on the equation as you describe, as was the 83 percent turnout in 2004. We put the registered voters and new voters together because they all voted on election day and that's the way the county election officials compute it. So, yes, 93 percent of the people registered to vote showed up on election day - whether they registered before Nov. 4 or on Nov. 4, we counted them.

93% - Impressive but is it

93% - Impressive but is it correct?

While I was following the election results online, I saw that a few precincts had turnout that was OVER 100%. Obviously that cannot be right. The "# of registered voters" number for each precinct (that the percentage was based off of) was static. Consequently, I am guessing that the 93% figure is based off of the number of registered voters prior to election day. So, if for example there were 100 registered voters, 80 of them voted and 10 new people registered and voted on election day, I am guessing that it showed up as 90% (90/100), when it is really 82% (90/110). Either way it is a great turnout, but 93% seems a little too good to be true.

I know Mark Ritchie is

I know Mark Ritchie is trying to find create new votes for Frankin - but is he working for the DFL Scott County too??

Buesgens won with 63 percent of the vote (15,298 votes) to Kristoffe-Jones’ 8,949 votes (49 percent).

63+49 = 112% ???

I think you mean 37%.

Yes, we set records for

Yes, we set records for election day. That's fabulous! And, we need to keep up the momentum beyond election day. We need to make sure that passion that led us all to the polls is the same passion that will keep us knocking on the doors of the White House to make sure that the promises that were made to us are the same promises that are delivered. The guy in this video nails it - THIS is how we need to live out our next four years...
The Savage City Council has

The Savage City Council has odd-year elections, so it really doesn't matter if the term of mayor is two or four years, as the election for city candidates is not designed to fall on even-numbered years. Any citizen can petition the Savage City Council to change elections to even-numbered years, as it it purely a local decision.

One year ago the term for our mayor changed from one year to a four year term. Unfortunately, that will never coincide with a presidental election. It's a sad fact that in a normal year less than 25% of Savage citizens turn out to vote in a normal election. I would wish that some day it could be changed so we could get more voter participation when it comes to such an important choice as our mayor.

I'm not going to fool myself

I'm not going to fool myself into thinking the DFL candidate in this district has the greatest changes of winning the election. Which I hope she does. With that said, a Republican other than Buesgens who will actually do something for his district (rather than trying to hold a vote for no reason and then voting against it) would do us some good. So, I urge Republicans to actually take a look at the two candicates they have in front of them rather than just doing what's been done for the last few elections. I'm not trying to be sly. I just want a better Representative.
