New Alzheimer's Support Group forms

To help those who care for someone with Alzheimer’s, McKenna Crossing is hosting a Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota-North Dakota informational and support group.  The caregiver group will be meeting once a month.  The first meeting will be held 7 pm., Tuesday, Feb. 5 in the community room at McKenna Crossing. 


Morgan sets up town meetings

State Rep. Will Morgan (DFL – Burnsville and Savage) is having a series of constituent meetings at the end of January and beginning of February to gather citizen input on key issues to be discussed by lawmakers this year.


Mardi Gras fun at American Legion

The Dan Patch American Legion Post #643, 12375 Princeton Ave., in downtown Savage, is celebrating Mardi Gras on Saturday, Feb. 2 and Sunday, Feb. 3.

On Saturday, a Mardi Gras king and queen will be crowned after Bargo and special music will be provided. On Sunday, there will be an indoor and outdoor parade that includes throwing beads. All-you-can eat Jambalaya will be served for a $1 donation.

 


Legion's flea market is Feb. 10

The Dan Patch American Legion, 12375 Princeton Ave., in downtown Savage, is having its monthly Flea Market & Craft Sale on Sunday, Feb. 10 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

There will be great gift ideas, floral arrangements, hand made crafts, jewelry, antiques, Nippon, stamping up & a lot more – just in time for Valentine’s Day.


Help plan Dan Patch Days

The planning committee for Dan Patch Days Inc. is meeting Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. at Savage City Hall, 6000 McColl Drive.

This will be the official kick-off to planning the 2008 event. Anyone from the Savage community who is interested in helping with Dan Patch Days is invited to attend.

Beginner/Intermediate Line Dance Class beginning Thursday, Feb. 7th, at the Savage American Legion, 12375 Princeton Ave, Savage. Class time is 7-9 pm. First night free for "first-timers". All are welcome.
