225 Water Street Creative Arts & Holding Company is looking for the next best “Trash-formation” artist. The contest is open to found object artists (10-100) that want to express their creative abilities using reclaimed materials. There is no fee to enter.

Art Specifications:
1. Materials that would otherwise be trash.
2. Media of your choice that conveys the 3R's, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Judging Criteria:
1. Use of Recycled Materials.
2. Creativity & Functionality.
3. Originality.
4. Level of Effort

Take a look at beautiful European cars Saturday at the German
Carfest in Shakopee. Formerly held in St. Paul, the event will be take
place at Veterans Memorial Park, just a mile east of downtown Shakopee
on County Road 101.

The show runs from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more information, or to register your vehicle, go to northstarbmw.org.

The park is situated along the Minnesota River, and has two covered pavilions, great bathrooms, and lots of space.

A night of interactive entertainment through music and comedy is hosted June 14 from  6 to 8 p.m. at the Dan Patch Coffee Depot, 4800 W. 123rd St., in downtown Savage.Entertainers will be Randy Hertle and Tom.

The Savage Arts Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday,  June 17 in the McHenry Room at Savage City Hall, 6000 McColl Drive. Meetings take place on the third Tuesday of each month. Members of the arts council must be residents of Savage or a professional fine artist with their primary business studio located within the city of Savage.

The National Alliance for Mentally Illness (NAMI) Support Group meets Wednesday, June 18 at the Valley Green Workforce Center, 752 Canterbury Rd. S., in Shakopee.NAMI in Scott County is a support and outreach group for those affected directly or indirectly by mental illness (bipolar, schizophrenia, depression, etc.) The group meets on the first and third Wednesdays of the month.
