Dan Patch American Legion Post #643, 12375 Princeton Ave will host a Rocky Mountain Oyster feed starting at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12.

Eaters are welcome to participate in an eating contest, where $50 is up for grabs. Starting at 2:30 p.m., the Legion will be serving all-you-can-eat oysters until they’re gone.

The St. Paul Farmers’ Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday in downtown Savage.More than 35 vendors will sell their freshly-grown goods at the Town Square parking lot, located north of 123rd Street (near the historic Savage Depot.) Products to be sold throughout the summer include fruits and vegetables, as well as flowers, cheeses, chocolates, jellies, honey and soaps.

A flea market will be held at the Dan Patch American Legion Post 643, 12375 Princeton Ave., in downtown Savage on Sunday, July 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The market includes nearly 60 tables will be filled with all antiques, beer collectibles, pet quilts, designer sunglasses and much more. The Legion is located at 12375 Princeton Avenue in downtown Savage.

The Savage Arts Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15 in the McHenry Room at Savage City Hall, 6000 McColl Drive. Meetings take place on the third Tuesday of each month. Members of the arts council must be residents of Savage or a professional fine artist with their primary business studio located within the city of Savage.

The National Alliance for Mentally Illness (NAMI) Support Group meets Wednesday, July 16 at the Valley Green Workforce Center, 752 Canterbury Rd. S., in Shakopee.NAMI in Scott County is a support and outreach group for those affected directly or indirectly by mental illness (bipolar, schizophrenia, depression, etc.) The group meets on the first and third Wednesdays of the month.

Scott County and its partners in SCALE are pleased to welcome the public to attend the SCALE Regional Public Safety Training Facility Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on Wednesday, July 16. This event – which will feature keynote speakers, refreshments, and interesting exhibits and safety-related displays -- will be held from 2:30 p.m. (remarks at 3:00) to 8:00 p.m.

SarahCare Adult Day Center, 4833 123rd St., Savage and Emerald Crest Assisted Living Communities co-sponsor a monthly Caregiver Support Group. The next meeting is July 17.

Meetings are held in an informal setting and are facilitated by health care professionals in the community. Meetings are every third Thursday of the month from 5 to 6 p.m.

The community is invited to attend a special benefit in sup-port of Jim and Janelle Mausolf and their daughter, Tess. A spaghetti dinner benefit will be Sunday, July 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Prior Lake VFW, 16306 Main Ave., S. in downtown Prior Lake.
