The St. Paul Farmers’ Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday in downtown Savage.More than 35 vendors will sell their freshly-grown goods at the Town Square parking lot, located north of 123rd Street (near the historic Savage Depot.) The Savage Arts Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15 in the McHenry Room at Savage City Hall, 6000 McColl Drive. Meetings take place on the third Tuesday of each month. Members of the arts council must be residents of Savage or a professional fine artist with their primary business studio located within the city of Savage.

The National Alliance for Mentally Illness (NAMI) Support Group meets Wednesday, July 16 at the Valley Green Workforce Center, 752 Canterbury Rd. The “Murphy Mountain Bike Sprint Series” begins on Wednesday Aug. 6 and continues on Wednesdays, Aug. 13 and 20 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve, 15501 Murphy Lake Road., Savage. The event is a series of three, 10-mile time trials. Time trial format, awards, and door prizes each week.

Our last contest was won by 14 year old, Storm Moll of Belle Plaine, Minnesota with her winning entry "Don't throw Peace Away." We're in search of our next best “Trashformation” artist! The Recycled Art Contest is open to recycled artists ages 10 and older. Entries will be displayed at 225 Water Street starting September 1st and the winning entries will be announced September 6th and cash prizes will be awarded for the top three finalists. (all day)
