September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and the Savage Public Library wants to make sure everyone has the smartest card of all – a library card.
Given the increasing costs of energy and food, a library card just keeps getting smarter and smarter. In addition to free book checkouts, Scott County library branches also offer the following: free Internet and wireless access, free checkouts of music CDs, movies, and audio books, free Museum Adventure Passes to select local museums and cultural organizations, free meeting rooms for non-profit and cultural organizations, and free story times and other programming for children.
With school starting, September is a perfect time to get a library card. Scott County residents can apply for a card at any branch. Just bring a picture ID with name and current address (or a pictured ID and a piece of mail showing name and current address).
For more information, visit the Savage Public Library, 13090 Alabama Ave., or call (952) 707-1770. Libraries hours are Monday thru Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.
