Voters in Savage have the opportunity to head to the polls Tuesday (Sept. 9) for primary elections to cast votes in county, state and even the U.S. Senate race. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The life of a 54-year-old Apple Valley man ended in a fatal rollover crash after he robbed a Walgreens store in Savage and then lead police on a high-speed chase down Highway 13 on Sunday morning (Aug. 31).

Landon Lind, 18, of Bloomington, has passed away.

Visitation is Friday, Sept. 5, from 5-8 p.m. at Gill Brothers Funeral Chapel, 9947 Lyndale Avenue South. Mass of Christian Burial is Saturday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. at The Church of the Nativity of Mary, 9900 Lyndale Avenue.

Come to Glendale United Methodist Church, 13550 Glendale Road, for “Rally Sunday” on Sunday, Sept. 7.

Worship is at 9 a.m. followed by a meal and games for all ages. There will also be a chance to register for Sunday School, which starts on Sept. 14.

St. James Lutheran Church, 3650 Williams Drive, Burnsville, is celebrating “Rally Day” on Sunday, Sept. 7 during worship services at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.

Chris and Tommy Sticha found a creative way to combine their passion for wiffleball into a fund-raiser for breast cancer and a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The brothers organized a 30-hour marathon and had roughly 70 of their classmates and friends from the south metro area show up to participate.

The Burnsville girls tennis team picked up its second win of the season on Sept. 3.

The Blaze won all three doubles matches in a 5-2 non-conference win over South St. Paul.
