What’s Dan Patch Days without a Sunday afternoon parade?

It’s still Dan Patch Days, according to the festival organizers, who announced this week that the parade will be cancelled this year due to planned road construction in the area. The bottleneck will be caused by construction of the roundabout at County Road 16 and Lynn Avenue, which is one of the main arteries into the downtown area.

Dan Patch Days is a summertime tradition that many families enjoy year after year.

Now organizers of the annual community celebration want to know what makes it successful, what can be done to sustain it and what’s ahead in the future. To find the answers, residents are being invited to a visioning session Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. at the McColl Pond Environmental Learning Center, 13550 Dakota Ave. (located on the west side of Community Park).
