“Murder on Warbler Weekend,” the second in the Bob White Birder Murder Mystery series by Jan Dunlap of Chaska, is scheduled for release from North Star Press Sept. 1.
In this second outing, Bob’s mother discovers a body while birding and his seasonal list suddenly includes murder, gambling addictions and shady politics, not to mention the possibility of wearing an orange jumpsuit while he makes license plates.
Juggling professional ethics, his students’ spring fever, and the sophomore girls softball team, Bob finds himself chasing more than warblers as he searches for a killer who’s even closer to home than he realizes. The story is set in Savage.
Dunlap’s debut, “The Boreal Owl Murder,” received a silver medal in the 2008 Midwest Book Awards, along with nominations for the Minnesota Book Awards and the Northeast Minnesota Book Awards.
A launch party for “Murder on Warbler Weekend” is 7 p.m. Sept. 10 at Once Upon a Crime mystery bookstore in Minneapolis.Book orders for the trade paperback may be placed directly with North Star Press, at Amazon.com, through Dunlap’s Web site at www.jandunlap.com, or at local booksellers.
