Catch up on the Harry Potter movies before the new one comes out at two special showings at the Savage and Prior Lake libraries.
The Tin Shed, 12250 Zinran Ave., Savage, has a Wednesday Night Comedy Night and the next show is July 15.
Showtime is 8 p.m. each night and tickets are $15 each.
The July 15 show is hosted by Rox Tarrant and features Darlene Westgor, “Nick@Night’s” Funniest Mom in America; Mike Brody and Tiffany Norton.
The deadline to register for the Savage Historical Tour has been extended to Monday, July 13.
The tour is scheduled for Saturday, July 18 and will be narrated by members of the Dan Patch Historical Society. Points of interest include Boiling Springs, Camp Savage, the Savage Fen, the Savage Depot, and the Savage Library’s Heritage Room.

The housing-market slump in the Twin Cities area is well known, but Savage gained 767 residents – an increase of 2.9 percent – between July 1, 2007 and July 1, 2008, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
The Savage City Council will meet Monday, July 13 for two meetings – a joint meeting at 5:45 p.m. with the Prior Lake-Savage Area School Board at the District Services Center, 4540 Tower St., S.E., Prior Lake, and a work session at 7 p.m. in council chambers at city hall, 6000 McColl Drive.
The agenda with the District 719 School Board includes:

4. SS-9
5. High school addition – possible timeline

For the first time, District 191’s summer theatre will step outside of the Mraz Center and perform for audiences from the main stage at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center (BPAC).
High schoolers, professional actors and people simply trying acting on for size get in character together in “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.”
The Academy of Holy Angels announced the names of the students who earned academic honors during the third trimester of the 2008-09 school year. Students who maintain a 4.0 grade point average or above are named as a scholar of distinction; students who achieve a 3.6667 or above earn high honors; and students who maintain a grade point average of 3.2 receive honors.
