William L. Wollin

William “Whitey” L. Wollin, 73, of Richmond, Minn. and formerly of Savage, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 at the St. Cloud Hospital.William WollinWilliam Wollin

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Church of God in Eden Valley, Minn. The Rev. Daniel Smead officiated and burial is at Old Eden Lake Cemetery, Eden Valley. Friends called one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church in Eden Valley. Arrangements were made with Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Eden Valley.

William was born Nov. 1, 1934 in Hillman, Minn. to William Sr. and Erma (Hoskin) Wollin. He married Elizabeth La Barge on Jan. 28, 1956 in Superior, Wis. The couple lived in Hibbing prior to moving to Savage in 1965, and to Browns Lake near Eden Valley in 1990. William was a construction worker for M.A. Mortenson in Minneapolis for many years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Savage American Legion Post 643, Eden Valley Sportsman Club and Union Local 563. William enjoyed fishing, hunting and most of all spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Doug (Debbie) Morris of Foreston, Ron (Maureen) Morris of Webster, Barb (Ron) Boeckmann of Richmond, Brenda (Roger) VonBank of Savage; brother, Hilton Wollin of Hibbing; sisters, Judy Hocking of Hibbing, Lois Rice of Shakopee, Don Wollin Grand Rapids, JoAnn Schwarzrock of Chaska; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Elizabeth, on Dec. 12, 2003.

LeRoy F. Mutziger

LeRoy Mutziger, 67, of Savage, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 at his home.LeRoy MutzigerLeRoy Mutziger

He was born in Epiphany, S.D. on Aug. 17, 1941 to Leo and Hilda (Kunkel) Mutziger. He married Dee Ettswold on Nov. 25, 1967 in Letcher, S.D.

LeRoy served in the United States Navy from 1960–1964 and was member of Father John Deere Knights of Columbus 4914 of Prior Lake–Savage and Dan Patch American Legion Post 643 of Savage.

He was a retired employee of U.S. West, now Qwest, where he had been employed as a construction foreman.

He is survived by wife, Dee; children, Michael (Becky) of Aberdeen, S.D., Michelle of Prior Lake, Chad (Angela) of Chamberlain, S.D.; five grandchildren, Jacob, Miles, Makenzy, Ella and Chesney; brothers and sisters, Chuck (Rose) Mutziger of Yankton, S.D., Don (Linda) Mutziger of Prescott, Ariz., Elaine Dunn of Rapid City, S.D., Jeri Mutziger of Mitchell, S.D. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation is Sunday, Nov. 9, from 3-6 p.m. at the McNearney Funeral Home 1220 East Third Avenue, Shakopee, and at the church one hour prior to the Mass on Monday.

Mass of Christian Burial is at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4625 West 125th Street, Savage, on Monday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Tix officiating. Interment with military honors is at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Fort Snelling, Minn.
