A man was transported to the hospital after a car struck his moped from behind while both vehicle was headed west on County Road 42 at the Joppa Avenue intersection. 42 and JoppaCrash: 42 and Joppa

“He was lucky,” Police Chief Rodney Seurer said. “He was thrown off his moped into the windshield.”

The man, whose age and hometown are not yet known, suffered only minor cuts on his body but was transported by ambulance to the hospital as a precaution.

The other driver, driving a Dodge car, struck the moped from behind at about 8:57 a.m. Friday, May 23. That driver was not injured.

Seurer said the construction near that intersection as well as the bright sun could have distracted the driver of the car, who was traveling around 45 mph.
