Police Report: July 4, 2009

The Savage Police Department issued 86 citations between June 18 and 24 and responded to 258 incidents between June 19 and 26. Some of the incidents included the following:

CRASHES

A hit and run property-damage crash was reported at Sonic, 4233 Egan Drive, after a truck pulling an enclosed trailer knocked over a speaker box and left the scene on June 24. There was more than $1,000 in damage.

DWI

A 40-year-old Lakeville man was arrested for fourth-degree DWI and improper lane use after police stopped him for swerving his traffic lane near County Road 42 Drive and Quebec Avenue on June 23. According to police, the man’s blood alcohol content was .12.

THEFT

An XM radio valued at $100 was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked overnight in the driveway of a home in the 14900 block of Natchez Avenue on June 19.

On June 19 a fanny pack with cash and prescription medications with an unknown valued were reported stolen from a home in the 4800 block of West 140th Street.

A resident of the 9300 block of Creek Ridge Lane reported the theft of a musical recording device valued at $350 on June 20.

On June 21 a resident of the 14500 block of Yosemite Avenue reported the theft of electronics valued at $650 from a vehicle that was parked in the driveway overnight.

A resident of the 13000 block of Natchez Avenue reported a burglary and theft of jewelry with an unknown value on June 21.

A 17-year-old St. Paul boy, a 17-year-old Northfield boy and an 18-year-old Apple Valley man were all cited for tampering with motor vehicles after an officer observed them acting suspiciously in the 7300 block of 132nd Circle on June 22. The Northfield boy was also cited for a curfew violation. The St. Paul boy was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

On June 22 a resident of the 5100 block of West 144th Street reported a burglary and theft of a video game system valued at $400 while the homeowners were out of town.

A resident of the 5700 block of River Oak Drive reported the theft of items valued at $212 from a vehicle on June 23.

A resident reported theft of a bicycle valued at $100 from a garage in the 13700 block of Alabama Avenue on June 23.

On June 23 the tools with an unknown value were reported stolen from the outdoor storage yard at Colonial Stone, 12500 Zinran Ave.

Theft of about $500 worth of items was reported from a vehicle that was parked in an open garage in the 13400 block of Foxberry Road.

On June 25 a resident reported theft of an iPod valued at $250 from a vehicle that was parked in the 14800 block of Hillside Trail.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

On June 21 property damage was reported after a rock was thrown through a window of a vehicle parked in the 14000 block of Natchez Avenue. The estimated damage was $450.

A resident of the 9100 block of Woodhill Court reported $500 in damage after a vehicle was scratched and dented while parked on the street overnight on June 22.

NARCOTICS

An 18-year-old Prior Lake man was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after police conducted a traffic stop near Hanrehan Trail and Hanrehan Lake Boulevard on June 35.

ASSAULT

A 42-year-old man from Savage was arrested for domestic assault in the 5400 block of West 131st Street on June 21.

On June 21 a 24-year-old man from Savage was arrested for fifth-degree domestic assault in the 4600 block of West 139th Street.

HARASSMENT

On June 20 an 18-year-old man from Savage was arrested for a violation of a domestic abuse no contact order after police received a 911 hang-up call in the 4100 block of West 126th Street.

LIQUOR LAW VIOLATIONS

A 17-year-old Burnsville boy was cited for minor consumption of alcohol after police responded to a call of an assault near West 131st Street and Glenhurst Avenue on June 20.

MISCELLANEOUS

A 44-year-old woman from Savage was cited for dogs running at large and dogs that were not registered after police received a report of dogs running loose in the 5300 block of Egan Drive on June 21.
