Grainwood Elementary celebrated May as Better Hearing and Speech Month by participating in a poster contest to raise awareness for speech and hearing disorders.
Students drew pictures on related topics to Better Hearing and Speech Month including the 2008 theme, “Helping People Communicate.”
The winning posters were selected by teachers and staff and will be exhibited at Grainwood Elementary and Prior Lake Public Library during May.
The American Speech Language Hearing Association has celebrated Better Hearing and Speech Month since 1927. The variety of speech and hearing disorders affect 14 million Americans.
