Girls tennis: Blaze earns second victory

The Burnsville girls tennis team picked up its second win of the season on Sept. 3.

The Blaze won all three doubles matches in a 5-2 non-conference win over South St. Paul.

Earning wins for the Blaze was the No. 1 doubles team of Ashley Kolstad and Leah Kolstad (6-4, 6-3), the No. 2 team of Natalie Peterson and Hailey Robb (6-1, 6-0) and third team of Megan Raden and Taylor Mackey (6-2, 6-3).

In singles, the Blaze got wins from Jillian Dotas at the third spot (6-3, 6-0), and Payton Palmer at the fourth spot (6-1, 5-7, 6-1).

The Blaze (2-4 overall, 0-2 in the Lake Conference) will return to conference action on Monday, Sept. 8 when it plays host to Kennedy.

Burnsville will be at Eagan on Wednesday, Sept. 10 and then home against Jefferson on Friday, Sept. 12. All three matches start at 3:30 p.m.
