Nicholas Laursen of Savage has been awarded a Carl and Eloise Pohlad Scholarship for the 2007-08 academic year at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

The scholarship, funded through the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, is given to an incoming full-time freshman from Minnesota who intends to major in accounting and work in the profession after graduation. Recipients are chosen based on academic achievement, class rank and entrance examination test scores.

Laursen is the son of Dan and Darlene Laursen.
