Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) is being offered Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. at Faith Covenant Church, 12921 Nicollet Ave S., Burnsville.

Based on the work of psychologist Alfred Adler, the Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) books are "parenting manuals" that combine the best principles of child rearing from a variety of sources. It is centered on the premise that children are naturally good, inherently curious, want to cooperate and experience a real sense of belonging in their families.

The class provides clear and concise instructions on how to meet the parenting challenge of raising responsible, cooperative, happy children and how to take the anxiety out of the parenting role and replace it with confidence.
