Williams wins mayor's seat, McColl and Kelly victorious on city council

In city elections, Savage City Clerk Ellen Classen reported these unofficial results, with all eight precincts reporting.

Janet Williams will be the city's next mayor and  as she garnered 3,110 votes. Lonny L. Johnson brought in 1,749 votes. Williams is the first woman elected to the office of mayor.

For Savage City Council, Incumbent Al McColl was the top vote getter with 3,119 votes. Christine Kelly came in with 2,516 votes, Garry Larson got 1,870 votes and Frank F. Bailey II rounded out the field with 581 votes. McColl's and Kelly's terms will run four years each.
