School Board Member-Elect Chris Lind of Savage has acquired legal counsel and submitted a letter to the Prior Lake-Savage Area School District, said Kristi Mussman, district communications coordinator.
Attorney David Thompson submitted the letter on behalf of Lind on Dec. 19, Mussman said. The nature of the letter and its contents have not been disclosed.
Attorney Jennifer Earley of Knutson, Flynn & Deans, the attorney’s office for the Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools, acknowledged that a document had been received, but she declined to release its contents citing data privacy laws.
The data cannot be released without consent of the subject of the data or a court order under the law, she explained.
Earley said the classification of the document could change and that in this instance there is some ambiguity in its classification.
“At this point in time, it’s private personnel data,” Earley said.
Lind’s attorney was unavailable for comment by press time.
Lind previously declined comments to the newspaper until the New Year. His previous phone number has been disconnected. The school district was unable to provide new contact information for Lind.
Lind has also removed his Myspace Web page, which had been brought up as a concern by some residents.
