The following obituaries are from the March 29, 2008 print edition of the Savage Pacer newspaper:

Mazie L. Carlton

Mazie Carlton, 78, of Shakopee and formerly of Richfield, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008.

Preceded in death by husband, Melvin; son, Roy. Survived by sons, Joseph (Susan) and Rex (Laurie); daughter-in-law, Mary; grandchildren, Elmer, Jennifer, Krystle, Karl, Diana, Luanna, Steven, Melinda, Bryan and Christopher.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, April 2, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 5634 Luther Road Southeast, Prior Lake. Private interment at Dawn Valley Memorial Park. Memorials preferred to MN food shelves.

Henry W. Lally

Henry W. Lally, 83, of St. Michael, who formerly resided in Savage for over 40 years, has passed away. Henry LallyHenry Lally

Liturgy of Ressurection was held at St. Maron Maronite Catholic Church in Minneapolis on Monday, March 17, 2008. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Survived by wife, Mamie; sons, Gary, Mark and John (Mary) Lally; grandchildren, Ashley, Ryan, Shane and Matthew; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Henry served in the Navy during WW II and is retired from Northwest Airlines.

Genevieve M. Neck

Genevieve Neck, 92, of Prior Lake and formerly of Savage, died Monday, March 24, 2008 in Shakopee.

She was born in Colby, Wis. on July 29, 1915 to Hugo and Callie (Shafer) Krepsky. She married Clarence Neck on June 20, 1941 in Colby. Genevieve was a retired school teacher having taught in the Burnsville–Savage Public Schools.

She is survived by daughter, Terry Pivec of Prior Lake; son, Larry Neck of Key West, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jerry Pivec, Mark (Amie) Pivec, and Maggie Neck; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by husband, Clarence; brother, George; sister, Margaret.

Visitation was Friday, March 28, one hour prior to the Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savage.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Friday at 1 p.m. Officiating at funeral service was the Rev. Michael M. Tix. Pallbearers included Arden Moen, Jerry and Mark Pivec, Todd and Arnie Johnson, Zachary Steffenhagen. Interment at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Burnsville.
