Firefighters were called to the area of the 14800 block of Sumter Avenue as 12:34 p.m. A tree in the woods of that area was on fire. Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, the cause which was not known.

At one vehicle crash near the intersection of Highway 13 and Vernon Avenue at 5:49 p.m., firefighters helped assist traffic after the vehicle hit a bridge. There were no injuries reported.

Responding to a call of fire alarms in a vacant house in the 8600 block of 154th Street, firefighters discovered the detector was faulty.
