While Burnsville-Eagan Savage School District 191 supports the intent of “Take Your Child to Work Day,” the district is discouraging families from participating in the event which takes place this year on Thursday, April 24.

“While it is good for students to learn about their parents’ jobs, it would be better if visits were made during school breaks or over the summer,” said Superintendent Ben Kanninen. “We strongly discourage participation in this event when school is in session because it is very important that students are in school and learning for all 172 days of the school year.”

In addition, important state tests, MCA-II will be taking place that day for many students.
