In an abrupt departure from what was publically announced, the Prior Lake-Savage Area School District's superintendent advisory committee deviated from its schedule and named two finalists on Friday morning.
The District 719 School Board was originally scheduled to discuss narrowing the pool of six finalists down to three at its Monday, April 14 meeting. But today, the district announced two candidates remain in the search. No details were offered by the district communication's office about what prompted the change how the selection of finalists was made.
Gruver
Steinhaus
After interviewing six finalists this week, the advisory committee narrowed its search down to Sue Ann Gruver, assistant superintendent of Mahtomedi Public Schools, and Leslie Steinhaus, district administrator of the Whitewater Unified School District in Wisconsin.
The committee also decided to accelerate the timeline for interviews. Gruver will be interviewed from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 15. Steinhaus' interview will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 16. Interviews will take place at the District Services Center, 4540 Tower St., S.E. Prior Lake.
The committee plans to make a selection on April 16 and will make its recommendation to the School Board. The School Board will vote on the hiring of the superintendent at its April 28 meeting at 7 p.m. at the District Services Center, 4540 Tower St. SE, Prior Lake.
