Fire Calls: April 19, 2008

Thursday, April 10

Firefighters were called to help with a 2-year-old child who was not breathing and possibly having a seizure at 8:44 p.m. in the 9300 block of 134th Street. Firefighters helped Allina at the scene before the child was transported to the hospital.

Saturday, April 12

Firefighters responded to a call of a smell of an electrical fire in a home in the 5300 block of Riverwood Lane at 5:30 p.m. They determined the motor in the refrigerator in the home was malfunctioning and told the home owners to monitor it and to replace the appliance.

At 7:33 p.m. firefighters responded to the scene of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 13 and Zinran Avenue. There were no reported injuries.

Sunday, April 13

In the 9200 block of Hillcrest Drive, firefighters responded to a call at 6:27 p.m. of a gas can on fire. The fire was extinguished; there was no damage or injuries.

At 8:13 p.m., a small building in Hidden Valley Park, 5000 W. 132nd St., was on fire. The building was not able to be saved and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is not known.
