After spending a beautiful day shopping with a good friend I felt the need to spend Sunday evening outside. Since I don't have a balcony or backyard to perch in, I put on my new white kicks and went for a walk around my virtually unexplored neighborhood. (When we first moved in I was intimidated and didn't want to walk around alone. Then it got snowy and cold and I'm not a snow bunny, so I've been hiding inside.) Everyday, honestly everyday I drive home from Savage to the city on 35W I fall in love with the view. The buildings look so majestic and just perfect when the setting sun hits them. I love it. So I decided to bring my camera with me. I walked around trying to capture the atmosphere of my neighborhood. I got a lot of really fun shots. (I've put up one of my favorites.)

Last week I heard about a hostage situation that was in my 'hood at the art museum, I thought about my car, the homeless man that likes to sleep on the steps to our private entrance and leaves vodka bottles in the entry way when it's too cold outside, the exclusive off-street parking and the constant wailing fire trucks leaving the station down the block. I was ready to high-tail it out of there. Then Sunday I remembered why I love living there. The sights, the activity of the people and the ability to walk outside and never know what I'm going to learn or see fromĀ the people.
Let me know what you think of the photo.
