The fifth annual Burnsville Senior High School spring clean up day is Saturday, May 17 from 8 a.m. to noon. This year’s project involves continued maintenance of planting areas by replenishing mulch and repositioning plants. Volunteers can come for the entire morning, or stop by when they’ve got time, and are asked to bring work gloves, shovels, wheel barrows or rakes to help with the clean up efforts. There is still a need for donations to help the on-going campus clean up efforts as the BHS Beautification Group does not receive school district funds. Anyone who has a landscaping or construction business who might be willing to donate materials and labor are needed. The clean up crew is always in need of good quality mulch to replenish plant beds, landscape materials and plants. What’s more, there are many future needs, such as other landscape enhancement projects, purchasing more attractive trash receptacles and purchasing and installing benches near the entrances of the Mraz Center and gymnasium. Monetary donations can be sent in care of the Blaze Fund to Burnsville High School, 600 E. Hwy. 13, Burnsville, MN 55337.

For further information, contact BSHS Beautification Chairwoman Nancy Huddleston at (952) 894-8733.
