The Burnsville badminton team will take a 4-10 overall record into the state tournament, which starts Tuesday, May 13 and ends the following day at Burnsville High School.

The state individual tournament is May 15 at St. Paul Harding High School.

The Blaze heads into state following a 4-3 loss to Eden Prairie on May 6. The team also split a triangular match on May 5, beating Minneapolis Edison 5-2 and losing to St. Paul Harding 4-3.

Emily Zhang went 3-0 for the Blaze at No. 3 singles in the last three matches. Lisa Dennis and Soogin Moon also went 3-0 at No. 2 doubles. Winning twice for Burnsville was Natalie Leiker and Amy Lindblad at No. 1 doubles and Crystal Colin at No. 4 singles.
