Carol Woods, of Prior Lake, was selected to present a research project at Concordia University during St. Paul's Sixth Annual Research and Scholarship Symposium held April 25 on the Concordia campus.

Woods presented on the research topic "What are the Cross-Cultural Differences between the U.S. and China to Determine the Strongest Characteristics needed for Success with a Midwestern Female-Owned Importing Business." The focus of the research was developing an understanding of cross-cultural differences between the U.S. and Asia to determine the strongest characteristics for success for a female-owned U.S. importing business. The project discovered the culturally sensitive behaviors that need to be observed by a Midwestern female working in the import sourcing business with Chinese manufacturers.

Woods is a student majoring in organizational management and leadership. The Research and Scholarship Symposium recognizes undergraduate and graduate students who have completed research or academically focused creative projects during the academic year.
