Tony Peterson continued his torrid hitting on July 2 with seven RBIs in the Savage Outlaws' slugfest 15-13 win over Lakeville in a Cannon Valley League (CVL) game.

Peterson, one of three Outlaws on the CVL all-star team, also hit for the cylce going five for five with three runs scored. He headed into the Lakeville game going two for five with three RBIs the night before in a 10-5 non-league win over Arlington.

In the past four games, Peterson is 13 of 20 with 17 RBIs. On the season, he is hitting a team-best .456 with eight doubles, four home runs and 24 RBIs in 16 games.

Savage is 10-6 overall (7-4 in the CVL) and has won five straight games.

Also having a big night at the plate in the win over Lakeville was Pat Abbe, who went two for four with three RBIs and Matt Mowry who had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Tyler Peterson had three runs scored and an RBI.

Brandon Walczak was the winning pitcher in the slugfest. He went 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief, striking out three. He was one of four pitchers the Outlaws used in the game. Walczak is also on the CVL all-star team, along with fellow pitcher Ben Turnwall.

Walczak was the winning pitcher against Arlington, tossing seven strong innings and striking out 10. He allowed just three hits and one earned run.

Walczak is 3-2 on the season with three saves, 49 strikeouts and a 3.75 earned-run average in 36 innings of work.

Adam Evanhoff went three for four with a home run and three RBIs in the win over Arlington. Evanhoff is hitting .429 on the season. Chris Steenburg added two RBIs.
