A 55-year-old Burnsville man was charged with two counts of first-degree DWI, driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety, violating a restricted driver’s license and operating a vehicle with impounded plates by the Scott County Attorney’s Office on Aug. 4.
Carey John Nelson was arrested for a DWI near Highway 13 and 152nd Street after being stopped for speeding on Aug. 2. Nelson’s blood alcohol content was .17 (more than twice the legal limit), according to the criminal complaint.
Nelson had three previous DWI convictions in the past 10 years.
