In an abrupt departure from what was publically announced, the Prior Lake-Savage Area School District's superintendent advisory committee deviated from its schedule and named two finalists on Friday morning.

The Prior Lake High School speech team finished its most successful season ever, placing fourth out of 13 schools, in the Section 1AA meet Tuesday night.

The team also sent two individuals to the state meet.

Chloe Radcliffe and Sarah Wente advance to the state meet, set for April 19 at South St. Paul High School.

While Burnsville-Eagan Savage School District 191 supports the intent of “Take Your Child to Work Day,” the district is discouraging families from participating in the event which takes place this year on Thursday, April 24.

“Inside Shakopee Schools,” the Shakopee school district’s newsletter, is now available electronically.

The Burger Shop Boys and the Pink Ladies will fill the Prior Lake High School auditorium with timeless tunes and dance moves when students doo-wop back to 1959 to perform the spring musical, “Grease.”

Sign up with Shakopee Community Education for a trip to the Science Museum on April 19.

The featured exhibit will be “Deadly Medicine: Creating the Master Race” on Nazi Germany and the theatre presentation is on “The Alps,” a true life story.

Prior Lake-Savage Early Childhood Family Education spring classes will be starting the week of April 7.

Hidden Oaks Middle School Assistant Principal Julie Yaeger will step down from her position. Yaeger has accepted a job outside of the district and will leave the end of this school year. Look for updates on Yaeger's replacement in future reports online and in the Savage Pacer.
